Architect: Zero Energy Design
Custom single family residence
This modest 3500 sqft home is being commissioned by a family who is relocating from out of state and wanted to build their “forever” home closer to their adult children (and grandchildren!). The home is pursuing Passive House certification through Phius’ Source Zero program, and has already achieved Design Certification. Estimated completion is December 2024.
Historical restoration/renovation
Part Historical Restoration, part Renovation & Modernization, we are working to update and maintain a stunning period home designed by renowned architecture firm Peabody & Stearns. Our clients fell in love with the historical charm of the estate, but wanted to update the Kitchen, Bathrooms, Electrical, and HVAC systems to better suit the needs of a family in today’s world. Completion in Spring 2024.

Affordable Multifamily Passivehouse
Star Contracting & Hue Architecture partnered to respond to a City of Boston RFP to build affordable homeownership units on vacant city lots. We were awarded three parcels on Norwell St. in Dorchester, where we plan to develop 12 units of Passive House aligned condominiums that will reach Net-Zero Energy with the up-front installation of solar panels. Breaking ground in Q4 of 2024.
